Steve and Kathy Kay
Trevor loomed large in the lives of all of us who were fortunate to have been in his lab and benefitted from his special brand of mentorship. A sparkling mind, big heart and wonderful sense of humor buoyed us through the highs and lows of PhD thesis projects. There seemed to only two things he disliked: poorly designed experiments and the badger sett in the bottom of his garden. He pushed me to head to the USA for my postdoc, which turned out to be transformational. I owe so much to what he taught me about science, life and the importance of family. We are so thankful that my wife Kathy and I got to see Trevor and June in 2019 in Bath – it joins many wonderful memories of Trevor’s brightness, quick wit and generosity. He will be sorely missed.
